Our Monthly Newsletter:

                                      Youth Activities

All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to be a part of CCUMC's Youth Group. On the first Sunday of each month the youth attend the 9:30 Contemporary Service together in the Chapel.  On the other Sunday mornings after the Children's Moment in the Contemporary Service, the youth study and have discussions about the Bible, Christian faith, and life.  They meet most Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm for fellowship, fun and missions. The youth also have two weekend retreats during the year and a mission trip during the summer. Call the church office to check on Sunday evening schedule.

Besides participating in Sunday School the youth meet on most Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm at the church.  Special activities are planned about once a month.  Examples include: retreats at West River Camp and Ocean City, lock-ins at the church and mission trips. They also participate in local service projects such as helping to prepare food for the area homeless for which they can earn Service Learning Hours.  They are a group of caring and welcoming young people who are committed to growing in their faith, treating one another with respect, and having fun!

Confirmation Class

Youth who are in 8th grade and above are invited to join a biennial Confirmation Class with a flexible schedule in the spring.  The youth work at their own pace with adult mentors.  Class material covers the history and major doctrines of the United Methodist Church and explores faith on a personal basis.  Upon completion students are confirmed as members of the church.

Music Opportunities

There are opportunities for youth to perform and lead worship.

Youth may assist in the traditional worship service as acolytes.
