CCUMC will be collecting new items requested by the Turkish Embassy to aid the people affected by the earthquake. The following items are requested:
– Blankets
– Tents
– Sleeping bags
– Pocket warmers
– Winter clothing (jackets, gloves, headgear)
– Over-the-counter medications for flu, cold, and pain killers
If you would like to donate any of the items above, please drop them off in the Wesley Room by the end of services on Sunday, February 19. The church office is open from 10 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday if you would like to drop off your donation during the week. (To enter the building, ring the church office from the doors off the church parking lot.)
CCUMC will deliver the donations to the Turkish Embassy.
If you would prefer to make a financial contribution, you can write a check to CCUMC and specify in the memo line: Earthquake Relief. Your funds will be received more quickly if you donate directly through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), click here. Note that you have the option to “give credit to your local church.” Please type in the name of our church, select “Maryland” from the drop down menu and hit “search.” Thank you!
